Nepal Army and US Army agree to continue cooperation in various areas including in training and disaster relief

KATHMANDU, March 20: The 4th edition of the Bilateral Dialogue between the Nepali Army and the United States Army concluded on Wednesday.


According to the Nepal Army's Directorate of Public Relations and Information, the bilateral dialogue,  which took place from March 27, was focused on continued cooperation in humanitarian aid and disaster relief, peace operations, training and expanding disaster management capacity.

The dialogue was led by Major General Ashok Raj Sigdel on behalf of the Nepali Army and by Major General Christopher Smith, Deputy Chief of the Asia Pacific Command, on behalf of the US Army. 


The Nepali team included representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Defense while 22 representatives from the American team participated in the dialogue.


Meanwhile, US team leader Smith called on Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma. The Nepali Army in a statement said that such dialogues will help strengthen the harmonious bilateral relations between Nepal and the United States.
