KATHMANDU, Jan 24: The Nepal Bar Association (NBA) has asked to immediately scrap the recent amendment made to the Judicial Council Regulations, 2074 BS.

The NBA has stated that it has a firm stance for the immediate scrapping of the amendment as per the decisions of the NBA assemblies, meetings, conference and declaration paper and the circulations made in relation to the amendment.
Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, NBA President Gopalkrishna Ghimire and General Secretary Anjita Khanal have termed the amendment as regressive, biased, discriminatory, arbitrary and unconstitutional, and against the principles established by the Supreme Court's verdicts.
