KATHMANDU, Feb 12: Nepal has defeated Kenya by three wickets at the ICC World Cricket League 2 underway at Windhoek in Namibia on Monday.
Chasing a target of 178 runs set for Nepal by Kenya, Nepal reached the target in allotted 50 overs, losing seven wickets with zero balls remaining. Rohit Kumar secured highest 47 runs studded with one four off 85 balls, Aarif Sheikh hit 42 runs including two fours off 82 balls while Paras Khadka grabbed 42 runs including three fours and two sixes off 44 balls.

Sent in to bat first after losing the toss, Kenya made 177 runs losing eight wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Irfan Karim scored highest 42 runs off 100 balls, AA Obanda made 41 runs including five fours off 46 balls while CO Obuya contributed 27 runs off 61 balls. In reply, Nepal's Sandeep Lamichhane claimed highest five wickets giving away 20 runs in 10 overs, Sharad Vesawkar, Basant Regmi and Sompal Kami took one wicket each.
A total of six teams - Nepal, Oman, Namibia, Canada, UAE and Kenya - are participating in the Division Two league since Thursday.
