KATHMANDU, Oct 19: Minister for Industry, Nabindra Raj Joshi, and Chinese Minister of State Administration for Industry and Commerce, Zhang Mao, today held bilateral talks at the former's office.
The meeting touched on the subjects of Nepal – China relations and Chinese support for overall economic development of Nepal, Industry Minister Joshi told the media persons.
Minister Joshi is learnt to have taken the opportunity to apprise the Chinese Minister of Nepali political parties' focus on economic prosperity in the scenario following the making of the constitution. The Minister also underlined the creation of an environment conducive to investment in Nepal.

Stating that the Industry Ministry had pledged legal assurances for protecting the investment, Minister Joshi added that the Ministry following the endorsement of the special economic zone (SEZ) related Act and industrial entrepreneurs' promotion related Act has now entered the phase of implementation.
The Minister said the government was now doing homework for quick passage of Company Act, Foreign Investment Act and Intellectual Act and appealed for Chinese support in constructing SEZ infrastructure.
During the talks, Chinese Minister Zhang said the Chinese investors were eager to invest in Nepal and made an inquiry into securing the investment. The Chinese government is ready to help Nepal in using the Chinese technology in Nepal's cottage and small industry sector.
He added that Nepal could benefit tremendously from Chinese economic progress and that Nepal could make use of the expertise gained by China in the industrial sector.
They also discussed exchanging bilateral support in developing the creativity of the youths and women and nascent entrepreneurship, Industry Minister's Press Advisor, Pradeep Chapagain said. RSS
