KATHMANDU, Oct 23: Nepal has defeated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in today's match under the triangular T20 international cricket tournament in Kathmandu. After winning three consecutive matches, Nepal reached the tournament final and managed to defeat the UAE by 5 wickets today.
Nepal successfully chased down a target of 165 runs in the 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process.

Ashif Shekh scored 62 runs in 50 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes to steer Nepal to victory. Additionally, Captain Rohit Paudal contributed 47 runs of 42 balls, including 4 fours and 1 six, before being dismissed. Dipendra Singh Airee remained unbeaten with a score of 40 runs. However, Kusal Bhurtel managed just 1 run, while Kusal Malla was dismissed without scoring, and Sompal Kami contributed 2 runs before being dismissed. Kushal Malla was run out during the match.
Muhammad Jawadullah of the UAE took 2 wickets, while Zahoor Khan and Akif Raja claimed 1 wicket each.
During the match, the UAE, having lost the toss and being asked to bat first, compiled a total of 164 runs while losing seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Basil Hamid and Vritya Arvind made significant contributions with 45 runs each, and Asif Khan added 18 runs to the scoreboard.
On the bowling side, Nepal's Sompal Kami and Abhinas Bohora each secured two wickets, while Karan KC and Gulsan Jha claimed one wicket each.
