KATHMANDU, Mar 16: Nepal women national football team has reached to the semifinal as a group winner of ongoing South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Women’s Championship.
In the match held at the Shahid Stadium in Biratnagar on Saturday, Nepal defeated Bangladesh by three goals. All three goals were scored in the first half of the game.
Nepal beats Brunei 3-0 to reach semis as group winner
Nepal led in the sixth minute of the game when Bangladesh hit the goal in its net. Sabitri Bhandari doubled the score in 23rd minutes. The third goal was from Manjali Kumari Yonjan at the 28th minutes. Nepal could not score more goals in the second half as Bangladesh improved their game.
Both teams have already reached the semifinal of the tournament. Nepal will now face runners up the team of group B in semifinals on March 20. India will take on Sri Lanka on Sunday to determine the winner of group B.
