Nepal faces defeat with UAE

KATHMANDU, June 4: Nepal was defeated by the United Arab Emirates in today's match under ICC U-19 Women's T-20 World Cup Asia Qualifier. The ICC U19 T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier is taking place in Malaysia.

KATHMANDU, June 4: Nepal was defeated by the United Arab Emirates in today's match under ICC U-19 Women's T-20 World Cup Asia Qualifier. The ICC U19 T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier is taking place in Malaysia. 


During the match held at UKM Oval Cricket Ground in Malaysia, UAE defeated Nepal by 10 wickets. Chosen to bat first after winning the toss, Nepal collected eight runs in 8.1 overs by losing all wickets.

The UAE met the target of nine runs posted by Nepal in one over and one ball. Sneha Mahara and Manisha Rana remained not-out and collected three runs and two runs respectively for Nepal. It was the worst performance of Nepal in its history. 


Nepal's Kiran Kumari Kunwar, Anu Kadayat and Ashma Pulami gathered one run each.  


Similarly, Mahika Gaur of the UAE took five wickets while Indhuja Nandakumar three wickets. It is the first defeat of Nepal in a qualifier. 


On Friday, Nepal had won the match by defeating Qatar with 79 runs. There are Nepal, Malaysia, UAE, Thailand and Bhutan and Qatar in the qualifier. 


Nepal will play its third match against Bhutan on Monday.
