KATHMANDU, Sept 2: Nepal is facing India in an international friendly football match today at the Dashrath Stadium in Tripureshwar, Kathmandu.


The game is set to take place at 5PM which will be live streamed on Himalaya TV.

The organizers have set the ticket price at Rs 1,000 and Rs 2,000.


The Nepali national football team is set to play two friendly matches with its Indian counterpart on September 2 and September 5 as a preparation for the upcoming SAFF Championship, 2021.  


Nepal and India have played 19 matches so far. Of them, India has won 13 matches with only two by Nepal. Four games have ended in a tie. India has scored 33 goals in the Nepali goalpost while Nepal has managed to score only nine goals against India.


According to All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), after the friendly matches with India, the Nepali team will head for Doha, Qatar to prepare for the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship. The Nepali team is scheduled to leave for Doha on September 10. 


The 13th edition of the SAFF Championship will take place at the Male National Stadium in the Maldives from October 1 to 16. The championship will feature five teams from Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Maldives and Sri Lanka.
