KATHMANDU, April 30: The Embassy of Nepal in Japan hosted a meeting of Asia Africa 20 (AA20) on Wednesday evening with a view to attracting Japanese private sector investment to Nepal and promoting Nepal.
During the program, Charge D’affaires (CDA) Ambika Joshi welcomed the representatives of various Japanese corporations, ambassadors and other diplomats of the embassies of a number of countries from Asia and Africa, and representatives of Nepali business community in Japan. Addressing the meeting, Joshi underlined investment needs as well as investment potentials of Nepal. He also talked about Nepal’s readiness to welcome foreign investment and encouraged Japanese investors to invest in Nepal.
Japan to provide grant assistance of Rs 1.832 billion
Similarly, Hisafuni Koga, Chief of the Board of Directors of AA20 delivered his opening remarks. Koga stressed the importance of cooperation between Japan and the Asia-Africa region.
Shouhei Sugita, Senior Advisor to the Domestic Strategy and Partnership Department of JICA was the keynote speaker. He talked about the status and future prospects of foreign workers in Japan. They both thanked the Embassy of Nepal for hosting the meeting and assured to help promote Japanese investment in Nepal.
AA 20 is a platform that helps create direct connections between the Embassies of Asia-Africa region in the Japan and various Japanese companies looking for the expansion of their business.
