Nepal hosting first ever int’l Rugby championship

KATHMANDU, Dec 8: Nepal is hosting the first-ever international Ruby Championship. The Asia Rugby U18 Boys and Girls Sevens Tournament is taking place from December 10 to 11 at the Tripureshwor-based Dashrath Stadium, according to Nepal Ruby Association (NRA)’s Acting Chairman Deepak Devkota.

KATHMANDU, Dec 8: Nepal is hosting the first-ever international Ruby Championship. The Asia Rugby U18 Boys and Girls Sevens Tournament is taking place from December 10 to 11 at the Tripureshwor-based Dashrath Stadium, according to Nepal Ruby Association (NRA)’s Acting Chairman Deepak Devkota.


At a press meet organized in the capital on Wednesday, the organizer said that there will be participation from Chinese Taipei, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, India and Bangladesh including Nepal in the men’s championship followed by Nepal, India, the UAE, Malaysia and Thailand in the women’s championship.


The event to be organized by the Asia Rugby Association is coordinated by the Nepal Rugby Association. Nepal National U-18 Boys and Girls team has been  in a closed camp training in Hetauda for around one and half months.
