KATHMANDU, June 10: Nepali Ambassador to China, Mr Leela Mani Paudyal has said Nepal has planned to launch a campaign targeting 300 million Buddhist believers in China with a view to encourage them to visit Lumbini.
While welcoming the participants at a tourism promotion program ( in Nepal) jointly organised by the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing, Consulate General of Nepal in Guangzhou, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agencies ( NATTA) with the support of Guangdong People's Provincial Government in Guangzhou Friday, he informed the audiences about this, the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing said.
On the occasion Ambassador Paudyal elucidated the reasons behind why Nepal would be a preferred destination for Chinese potential tourists.

Speaking on the program, Deputy Director General of Foreign Affairs Office of Guangdong People's Provincial Government, Mr Le Jian, appreciated the organisers for selecting Guangzhou to host the programme and appreciated the Nepal's spectacular beauty and pleasant climate.
Deputy Chairman of Tourism Bureau of Guangdong People's Provincial Government, Mr Chen Mao, Consul General of Nepal Mr Rabi Bhattarai have also addressed in the program.
Representatives of 60 enterprises including media from Guangzhou, representatives from Nepali community and officials from Guangzhou provincial people's government with 32 Nepali representatives of travel trade business were present in the programme.
NTB officiating director Mr Sunil Sharma presented paper about attractions of Nepali tourism industry.
NATTA President Mr Madhusudan Acharya, highlighted their tourism promotional trips to China. During the programme, Nepali folk dances were performed by Nepali students in Guangzhou. Tour operators and Travel Agents and China also held B2B meeting during the programme.
Earlier in the morning, Ambassador Paudyal has a meeting with Deputy General of General Office of people's Government of Guangdong Province, Mr Li Yi Wei. During the meeting, the two discussed several aspects of bilateral relations. RSS
