KATHMANDU, Sept 13: The two-day Nepal Infrastructure Summit 2019 concluded in Kathmandu on Thursday.


The infrastructure summit organized jointly by the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport and the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) brought over 500 participants to discuss on infrastructure issues that shape incentives for investment and enable the private sector to partner for sustainable prosperity.

During the two-day summit, participants discussed on global and regional megatrends, including climate change, and their relevance to the local context, issues surrounding infrastructure project delivery, financing modalities, and opportunities for cross-border economic cooperation and investments.


Speaking at the closing ceremony, Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, Matrika Yadav, urged the private sector to make investment in infrastructure sector and reiterated the government’s commitment to protect their investment. 


Earlier, speaking at a panel discussion, Minister for Energy Barsha Man Pun said that investment in infrastructure projects has not only risks but also holds return possibility.
