Nepal is ready to partner with world community: Minister Modi

KATHMANDU, July 6: Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Aman Lal Modi has said Nepal is ready to collaborate with the world community for an administrative model that is in tune with the times.

KATHMANDU, July 6: Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Aman Lal Modi has said Nepal is ready to collaborate with the world community for an administrative model that is in tune with the times. 


Addressing the Global Ministerial Level Conference on Rural Development in Busan, the Republic of Korea on Thursday, the minister said a system that is in tandem with the present age is the need of the hour. The conference is organized by the Korean Rural Development Centre. 


The Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration on the occasion stressed an administrative model that is in tune with the times as the whole world is in a transitional phase. He introduced himself as a minister from the country of the Gautam Buddha and Sagarmatha (Mt Everest).

"The world itself is in a transitional phase; there is a divide in terms of economic, physical and human capital. Administration and relations in all spheres are becoming more complex. Creating an administrative model that is in tandem with this age is inevitable and the Government of Nepal is eager to collaborate for this," he said.


Minister Modi expressed the government's readiness to go hand in hand with the world community for the strengthening and consolidation of federalism. "Federalism is in the initial phase of implementation in Nepal. Your experience in this can be a lesson for us. We are ready to collaborate for the strengthening and consolidation of federalism in Nepal," he added.


Noting that the conference is a source of inspiration for countries like Nepal, the minister expressed commitment to move ahead by consolidating federalism. He recalled in his statement to the conference that Nepal has established and brought into practice an inclusive, participatory democratic republic under the leadership of Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.


Representatives of 46 nations, including the ministers from 33 countries, are participating in the conference.
