KATHMANDU, Jan 2: Patan High Court has paved out a way for Nepal Police to seek sources of news from online news portals. Issuing a verdict on Tuesday, a joint session bench of Chief Judge Prakash Kumar Dhungana and Judge Neeta Gautam Dixit has cleared out the way for the police.

Following the discussion with both petitioner and defendant on Tuesday, the court denied issuing an interim order on the writ filed demanding to prohibit the police probing online news portals.

Madan Bhandari of White Star Media and Rabi Singh Dhami of News Media had filed the writ.
