Nepal records 1,388 new cases, 2,260 recoveries and 24 deaths on Sunday

KATHMANDU, August 29: Of 10,297 tests for COVID-19 were conducted on Sunday 1,388 tests turned out to be positive, according to the latest information released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

KATHMANDU, August 29: Of 10,297 tests for COVID-19 were conducted on Sunday 1,388 tests turned out to be positive, according to the latest information released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).


According to the MoHP, Nepal recorded 1,388 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday along with 2,260 recoveries and 24 deaths.

There are currently 35,796 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Of them, 32,744 are in home isolation, 3,052 in institutional isolation, 625 in ICUs, 343 in quarantine and 167 on ventilators. 


Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 478 cases of COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 312 were recorded in Kathmandu, 52 in Bhaktapur and 114 in Lalitpur districts. 


Kathmandu was the district to record highest number of new cases on Sunday in Nepal followed by Kaski with 175, Lalitpur with 114 and Morang with 110 new cases.
