Nepal records 3,175 cases, 8,723 recoveries and 14 deaths on Thursday

KATHMANDU, Feb 3: Nepal recorded 3,175 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday along with 8,723 recoveries and 14 deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

KATHMANDU, Feb 3: Nepal recorded 3,175 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday along with 8,723 recoveries and 14 deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).


As many as 12,605 swab samples (including RDT antigen data received through SMS & Email) were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 2,742 PCR and 433 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 63,636 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 61,862 are in self-isolation, 1,434 in institutional isolation, 281 in ICUs, and 59 on ventilators. Similarly, 138 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,778 people have died of the viral infection across the country.


Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley alone recorded 1,509 cases of the virus on Thursday. Of them, 1,249 were recorded in Kathmandu, 77 in Bhaktapur, and 183 in Lalitpur districts.
