COVID-19 death toll hits 467 with eight new fatalities in the past 24 hours


KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Nepal’s COVID-19 caseload increased by 1,207 in the past 24 hours, taking the national COVID-19 tally to 71,821.


According to Dr Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 1,207 new cases were detected across the country through 10,019 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests.

Likewise, in the past 24 hours, the MoHP also recorded eight cases of fatality related to COVID-19 while 1,147 people who had earlier tested positive for the virus recovered.


As of Saturday afternoon, Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll has reached 467 and the recovery tally stands at 53,013.


Currently, Nepal has 18,341 active cases of COVID-19 across the country undergoing treatment at various isolation centers and home isolation.


Just in the past one week, Nepal recorded 9,075 new cases of COVID-19. Nepal has been witnessing a four-digit rise for a week in a row. As many as 1,313 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Friday, 1,497 on Thursday, 1,172 on Wednesday , 1,357 on Tuesday, 1,325 on Monday and 1,204 on Sunday.
