On the occasion, Poudel said that no one can stop the country from facing Sri Lanka’s fate if a meaningful intervention is not made on time. He said, "The economic situation of the country is at risk. If we do not intervene meaningfully, no one can stop the country from becoming Sri Lanka if the problems that are seen are not solved on time."

Similarly, he also claimed that the CPN-UML had left the government with a strong economy while the current government had made the economic situation worse in the last nine months.

Stating that the Minister or the Prime Minister will not improve the deteriorating economic situation of the country just by making claims to do that, Poudel said that the government should take appropriate measures to tackle the current problems of the economy.
