Nepal’s Swikriti Acharya wins International Mathematical Olympiad 2023

KATHMANDU, July 11: Swikriti Acharya from Nepal has won the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) 2023 held in Chiba, Japan.

KATHMANDU, July 11: Swikriti Acharya from Nepal has won the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) 2023 held in Chiba, Japan.


A total of 112 members participated in the 64th International Mathematical Olympiad (World Competition) 2023 held from July 3 to July 13. Acharya received honorable mention award.

Six students selected from Nepal had participated in the competition. To participate in the competition, the Nepali team reached in Chiba under the leadership of Sanat Kumar Acharya, General Secretary of the Mathematical Association of Nepal (MAN), along with Treasurer of MAN, Chhabi Dhungana as deputy leader.


The IMO competition I'd being held every year since 1959. Chairperson Binod Prasad Panta said that Nepal has been participating in the competition since 2017 with the initiative of Mathematical Association of Nepal. This year is the seventh year of participation by Nepal.
