KATHMANDU, Nov 1: Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat and UK Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anne Marie Trevelyan engaged in a bilateral meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in London, where they discussed various aspects of Nepal-UK relations.

During the meeting, Finance Minister Mahat emphasized the importance of foreign investment from the UK, highlighting the economic challenges Nepal faces due to the COVID-19 pandemic, rising internal and external debts, and a shortage of investable capital. He pointed out that the UK's focus on green energy following COP-26 could lead to significant investment opportunities in Nepal, particularly in sectors like information technology, education, and tourism.

Minister Mahat also appealed for support to address the impacts of climate change in Nepal, despite the nation's minimal contribution to climate change.
