Nepal sees 67.3 percent of paddy transplantation till date

KATHMANDU, July 15: As of now, the country has reported 67.3 percent completion of paddy transplantation for the season.

KATHMANDU, July 15: As of now, the country has reported 67.3 percent completion of paddy transplantation for the season. Official data shows that paddy has been cultivated in 940,500 hectares of land.


According to provincial data, the progress is as follows: 61.7 percent in Koshi, 69.2 percent in Bagmati, 75 percent in Gandaki, 66.7 percent in Lumbini, 78 percent in Karnali, and 86 percent in Sudurpaschim Province, said Hari Bahadur KC, spokesperson for the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development. This week, paddy transplantation has accelerated due to adequate rainfall.
