KATHMANDU, Aug 22: Nepal is playing against Hong Kong today in the women's T20 cricket series featuring four nations starting today in Malaysia.
The match between Nepal and Hong Kong is scheduled to take place at Bayuemas Oval. The match will start at 2PM local time.
Before that, the host nation Malaysia will kick off the series by competing against Kuwait in the initial match.
Nepal to face Hong Kong in triangular T20 cricket series today
This four-nation T20 series holds significant importance as a preparatory event for the upcoming Asia Qualifier of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup. The qualifier is slated to be hosted in Malaysia, commencing from August 31.
Nepal has not been able to beat Hong Kong since 2019. Therefore, Nepal has strategic plans to secure victory against Hong Kong in this series.
The Nepal-Hong Kong match in the recent Emerging Cup held in June had to be called off due to unfavorable weather conditions.
Nepal managed to defeat Hong Kong by 4 wickets in the T20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers held in 2019. However, Nepal was defeated by Hong Kong in the T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier held in 2021 and the ACC Women's T20 Championship held last year.
