KATHMANDU, July 4: Nepal U-19 team has won the first practice match against an Indian team by emphatic 121 runs.
Nepal scored 250 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 40 overs in the match held at Greater Noida, India. Friends Sports Academy of India could only muster 129 runs before getting bundled out in the 32nd over.
Left-arm spinner Shahab Alam picked up 3 wickets supported by skipper Sandeep Lamichhane and Rohit Poudel's two wickets each to wrap up the match. Kishore Mahato, Rijan Dhakal and Lalit Rajbanshi took one wicket each.

Earlier, Pranit Thapa Magar smashed 87 runs including three sixes after Nepal XI when Nepal was struggling at 25-3 in 10 overs. He was supported by allrounder Dipendra Singh Airee (44) and Anil Kumar Sah (50) to take Nepal's score to 250 in 40 overs.
Nepal is in Greater Noida preparing for the upcoming ICC U-19 Asia Qualifiers to be held in Singapore. Malaysia, Singapore and Afghanistan are the other three nations who will compete along with Nepal for a place in the U-19 World Cup to be held in New Zealand in 2018.
