KANCHANPUR, Oct 20: Border security forces of Nepal and India have begun a joint patrol in the southern region of Kanchanpur in order to check criminal activities in the Indo-Nepal border area.
The patrol began on Saturday, considering the upcoming Tihar and Chhath festivals.
Security forces begin joint patrolling in border areas
The joint patrol has been initiated in order to further consolidate security provision in the border area considering the upcoming festivals, said Police Inspector at the Area Police Office, Belauri Rana Bahadur Chand.
"It will also try to stop the smuggling of goods as well as to protect the border pillars. A joint patrol by security persons of Nepal and India also strengthens relations between the two sides and ease addressing the challenges seen in the border area. The patrol will also help facilitate cross border traveling," added Chand.
