Nepali junior shuttlers win silver

KATHMANDU, Dec 23: The pair of Jessika Gurung and Rashila Maharjan has bagged silver medal in the Bangladesh Junior International Series Badminton Championship organized in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

KATHMANDU, Dec 23: The pair of Jessika Gurung and Rashila Maharjan has bagged silver medal in the Bangladesh Junior International Series Badminton Championship organized in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. 


The pair was defeated by Malaysian players in the final match held on Sunday at the Shahid Tajuddin Ahmad Stadium in Dhaka. The Malaysian pair Cheng Su Yin and Cheng Su Hui beat the Nepali pair 21-8 and 21-7.

Earlier, the pair of Nepali players had defeated the Bangladeshi players in the semi-final match. The Nepali team had left for Bangladesh on December 15 to participate in the championship. 


Along with the pair of Jessica and Rashila, the pair of Prince Dahal and Devraj Rana had also participated in the championship. 


The Nepali players had competed in the men's and women's single, doubles and mixed doubles. Player from Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Malaysia, Thailand and other nations had participated in the championship.
