Nepali national flag to fly at half-mast tomorrow to mourn Joshi’s demise

KATHMANDU, Oct 17: The government has announced a public holiday on October 18 to mourn the demise of centenarian Satya Mohan Joshi.


The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notice on Monday stating that the government has decided to give a public holiday to mourn the demise of centenarian Joshi. The notice also states that the national flag of Nepal will be flown at half-mast as a tribute to late Joshi.

Centenarian Joshi passed away at the age of 103 while undergoing treatment at 7:09 AM on Sunday morning. Joshi was undergoing treatment at Kist Medical College in Gwarko, Lalitpur. He was admitted to Kist Hospital on September 23 due to health problems.
