KATHMANDU, April 22: Nepali youth Bikram Khadka of Vachcha-1, Parbat, has made a world record for standing in a tree pose for the longest period of time. Khadka’s feat has been recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. Khadka stood in a tree pose (one foot resting on the ground and the other foot resting above the knee) for three hours and 50 minutes.
Khadka had sent all the details, including the video of the attempt to set a world record to the Guinness Book of World Records on 20 July, 2021 while the Guinness Book of World Records sent a certificate of the world record only a few weeks ago.

The certificate sent by Guinness Book of World Records was formally handed over to Khadka on Thursday by former chairman of the Council of Ministers and former Chief Justice, Khil Raj Regmi. Distributing the certificate, Regmi said that Nepal is a spiritual land and Khadka's attempt has helped to make Nepal more known to the world. He said that along with physical development, spiritual development is also indispensable for the overall development of the country.
Similarly, Khadka who was awarded the certificate of the world record said that he chose the difficult yoga position to set the world record to promote Nepal’s yoga and Nepal in the international platform. He also said that this honor belongs not only to him but to every Nepali citizen.
