DHANGADHI, May 4: Nepalis are returning home from different parts of India after the second wave of COVID-19 infection spread widely in India. Every day, more than a thousand people are entering Sudurpaschim Province from Gauriphanta in Kailali and Gaddachauki in Kanchanpur. But they have been allowed to go to their home villages without undergoing PCR tests.

Although it is said that the infection can be detected by checking the antigen at the checkpoint returning from India, most of them are not checked due to lack of necessary kits. Of the 1,080 people who entered Nepal from India on Sunday, only 382 were tested for antigen and others were allowed to go home without any tests. On Saturday, only 432 of the total 1,170 people were examined for possible COVID-19 infection. Similarly, the antigens of 407 out of 1,747 people travelling from India were tested on Friday.
