Nepalis spent Rs 119 billion on foreign trips in 11 months of current FY

KATHMANDU, July 10: Nepalis who go abroad spend more than the foreign tourists who come to visit Nepal.


According to the current economic and financial situation report of the country published by the Nepal Rastra Bank today, Nepalis going on foreign tours have spent Rs 119.99 billion in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year.  Compared to last year, such expenses are 37.9 percent more. During the same period last year, Nepalis spent Rs 87.3 billion on foreign trips.

During the same period, a total of Rs 58.006 billion was earned from foreign tourists visiting Nepal which is 94.3 percent more than the same period of the previous year. In the same period of last year, the income from foreign tourists was Rs 29.88 billion.


Similarly, Nepali students going to study abroad took Rs 89.18 billion during the review period. During the same period last year, such expenditure was equal to Rs 59.99 billion.
