NEPHA elects 15-member new executive committee

KATHMANDU, Sept 30: Shree krishna Bhatta has been elected the chairperson of Nepal Public Health Association (NEPHA). In the elections of all seven provinces held on Saturday, Bhatta who represents the Nepal Public Health Professionals (Democratic) panel received 604 votes to win the election against his competitor Dr Mohan Krishna Sapkota of the Nepal Health Professionals (Progressive panel). Sapkota secured 527 votes.

Likewise, Krishnaman Shakya, Maheshwor Shrestha, Binod Joshi and Sanjib Kumar Shah, all from the democratic panel, are the elected vice chair, general secretary, treasurer and co-treasurer on the 15-member new executive committee, respectively. The post of secretary has been won by Dipendra Khadka of the progressive panel. Rabikant Mishra,Kamal Ranabhat, Nidhuram Dangal, Rajan Babu Silwal, Kailash Shrestha, Ramchandra Sinha, Prajita Mali, Roshan Lama, and Bimala Bhatta have been elected the members on the committee. 


Presently, 16 teaching hospitals across the country offer the bachelor level's classes on public health, producing around 1,000 graduates annually. ---
