KATHMANDU, May 22: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Monday increased by 8.10 points to close at 1,891.31 points.
The secondary market opened at 1,883.20 points and plunged to the day’s low of 1,866.31 points in the first half an hour. In the next moment, the index soared to as high as 1,898.91 points before the market closed for the day.

In the intraday trading, 133 listed companies added to their market prices, while 78 companies registered as losers. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chip companies also inclined 0.54 points.
Banking and trading among the 13 groups were the losers. Out of the 11 gainers, manufacturing and processing added the biggest of 107.57 points in its index.
The daily turnover amount stood at Rs 1.278 billion, down from Rs 1.60 billion on Sunday. For the past few days, daily transaction amount has been recorded over Rs 1 billion.
Among individual companies, Shivam Cements had the biggest transactions of its shares worth Rs 73.49 million. Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was registered as the topmost gainer while GreenLife Hydropower Limited lost the highest percent of its market price.
