KATHMANDU, Nov 6: The domestic sharemarket enjoyed a double-digit rise today, the third day of the week. The stock market had formally entered the full-automated online system from today.
Nepse closes above 2,700 mark
The index of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the sole secondary stock regulator, increased by 10.79 points today compared to the previous day to close at 1218.07 points. Likewise, the sensitive index that measures the share values of 'A' class companies recorded a 2.38-point rise and closed at 259.19 points. A total of 822,207 units of share of a total 155 companies were traded today while the turnover was calculated at Rs 244,570,552.
According to the NEPSE, all sub-indices closed today with green notifications indicating that price movement was positive compared to the previous day. Banking (10.48 points), hotels (37.62), development bank (13.28), hydropower (3.04), finance (1. 25), non life insurance (57.02), production and manufacturing (0.7), others (3.15), microfinance (15.37) and life insurance (65.33) witnessed a bullish run today.
