KATHMANDU, April 14: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) shed 2.35 points on Sunday, the first trading day of the Nepali New Year 2081 BS on Sunday.
The secondary market opened at 2,025.30 points and plunged to the day’s low at 2,018.23 points in the first one hour of trading. In the next one hour, the index rose to the day’s high at 2,031.91 points. In the remaining period, the market went downhill and finally closed at 2,023.35 points.
Nepse fails to boost investors’ confidence, daily turnover fall...
The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies added 0.01 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 3.06 billion from Rs 3.48 billion on Wednesday.
Only four groups including microfinance, finance, trading and hydropower were the gainers, with microfinance adding the highest of 76.58 points to its index. Of the nine losers, non-life insurance fell 109.38 points, the biggest of all.
Among individual companies, 127 were recorded as gainers whereas 108 were the losers.
Sanima Mai Hydropower Ltd had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 214.78 million. Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was the top loser, while Shrijanshil Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited gained the highest of 10 percent of its market price.
