Nepse gains 40.68 points on Wednesday after a successive fall for three days

KATHMANDU, March 30: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Wednesday surged by 40.68 points to close at 2,568.25 points, mainly because of the investors’ attraction to purchase the shares of hydropower companies, development banks, microfinance and insurance companies.

KATHMANDU, March 30: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Wednesday surged by 40.68 points to close at 2,568.25 points, mainly because of the investors’ attraction to purchase the shares of hydropower companies, development banks, microfinance and insurance companies.


In the first three trading days of this week, the secondary market lost about 85 points. On Wednesday, the market that opened at 2,527.58 points fell to as low as 2,516.12 points before the market moved on an upward graph for the rest of the time during the intraday trading.

Along with the index, the turnover amount has also increased to Rs 2.25 billion from Rs 1.75 billion on Tuesday. All 13 trading groups witnessed gains in the average prices of their shares.


In terms of individual companies, Siddhartha Insurance had transactions of its shares worth Rs 112.72 million, the largest of all. Emerging Nepal Limited posted the topmost gain in its shares’ price while NCC Debenture 2086 was the biggest loser of the day.
