KATHMANDU, March 3: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday declined by 11.78 points to close at 1960.30 points.
The market opened at 1972.09 points and plunged to the day’s low at 1,947.28 points in the first one and a half hours of trading. The market then surged successively and hit the day’s high at 1,974.64 points in the last 50 minutes. The index again lost around 14 points in the remaining period before the market closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies declined by 1.92 points. The daily turnover fell to Rs 2.082 billion from Rs 2.598 billion on Thursday.
Two groups including manufacturing and processing, and hotels and tourism added 44.12 points and 27.35 points, respectively. Of the 11 losers, life insurance shed the largest of 91.87 points.
Among individual companies, 67 were recorded as gainers whereas 173 were the losers.
Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited with transactions of its shares worth Rs 132.04 million led the segment. Chirkhwa Hydropower Limited lost 7.49 percent of its market price and was registered as the top loser. Global IME Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd was the topmost gainer.
