KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Thursday plunged 21.15 points to close at 2,070.41 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,091.56 points and escalated to the day’s high at 2,099.43 points in the first hour. However, the market went to a straight fall in the remaining trading time.

In the intraday trading, 197 companies lost their market value, while 15 companies were the gainers. The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies also fell 3.70 points.
Along with a decline in the market index, the daily turnover also declined to Rs 1.684 billion from Rs 1.73 billion on Wednesday.
All the 13 trading groups lost in their average market values. Three of them including life insurance, non-life insurance and manufacturing and processing lost three-digit points in their respective indices.
Among individual companies, Himalayan Distillery Limited held the biggest transaction amount for its shares worth Rs 53.82 million. Unilever Nepal Limited was recorded the topmost loser while Sanima Large Cap Fund was the topmost gainer of the day.
