KATHMANDU, July 11: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday declined marginally by 4.73 points to close at 2,072.24 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,076.96 points and dropped to 2,068.75 points in the first one hour. In the next moment, the market escalated to the day’s high at 2,084.92 points, before it shed around 14 points to close for the day.

In the intraday trading, 138 listed companies lost while 79 companies added to their market values. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chip companies gained 0.25 points.
Out of the 13 trading groups, only four recorded as gainers. Development bank had the largest gain of 129.11 points, while finance, manufacturing and processing, and mutual funds were in the row. Of the nine losers, life insurance lost the biggest of 82.31 points.
The daily turnover amount stood at Rs 2.859 billion, a decline from Rs 3.797 billion on Monday.
Among individual companies, Himalayan Life Insurance Limited had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 127.81 million. Singati Hydro Energy Limited lost the highest of 5.96 percent of its market price, while Himalayan Power Partner was recorded the topmost gainer.
