KATHMANDU, May 19: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Thursday dropped by 23.51 points to close at 2,250.91 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,274.42 points and hit as high as 2,282.88 points in the intraday trading. The market gradually declined in the rest of the trading hours, finally closing at 2,250.91 points.

Except mutual funds, the rest of the 12 trading groups lost the average price of their companies’ shares. Index of life-insurance fell by a highest mark of 172.28 points. Just in the past three days, life-insurance lost more than 850 points.
The sensitive index that measures performance of the blue chips shares also declined 3.88 points. The single-day turnover amount fell to Rs 1.30 billion from Rs 1.32 billion.
Prabhu Bank Limited Promoter Share had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 128.17 million. Lumbini General Insurance was the top loser while General Insurance Company Nepal gained the highest percent.
