KATHMANDU, May 2: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Monday fell by a whopping 48.73 points to close at 2,307.44 points.
The secondary market that opened at 2,356.17 points, after a closure for three days, followed the downward graph during the entire trading hours. The turnover amount fell by a marginal amount to Rs 1.42 billion from Rs 1.49 billion on Thursday.
Nepse nosedives 44.56 points on Monday
In the intraday trading, the sensitive index that measures the performance of scrips of ‘A’ class companies also declined by 8.45 points. The entire trading groups lost in Monday’s trading, with the life insurers posting the biggest fall of 342.25 points in their share prices.
Arun Valley Hydropower Company saw the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 47.35 million. Nepal Finance Limited was the topmost loser while the share price of Jalpa Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha was the largest gainer.
