KATHMANDU, June 20: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday plunged 26.56 points to close at 2,064.83 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,091.39 points and hit the day’s high at 2,117.2 points in the first hour. The market index, however, fell in the successive trades in the remaining hours, taking the market index down by 1.27 percent.

In the intraday trading, 193 listed companies lost in their market values while 28 companies were recorded as gainers. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chip companies was down by 4.25 points.
Out of the 13 trading groups, only three - manufacturing and processing, investment and trading - gained in their market index. Of the 10 losers, the indices of life insurance and non-life insurance went down three-digit points of 313.34 points and 261.28 points, respectively.
The daily turnover amount declined to Rs 4.110 billion from Rs 4.740 billion on Monday.
Among individual companies, Nepal Infrastructure Bank Limited had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 205.75 million. Unique Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest percent while City Hotel Limited gained the highest percent of its market price.
