KATHMANDU, June 15: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Wednesday plunged 29.89 points to close at 1,966.37 points.
The secondary market that opened at 1,996.25 points went down to a minimum of 1,946.58 points before being recovered by around 20 points in the intraday trading. The turnover amount, however, stood at Rs 1.49 billion, more than Rs 1.18 billion on the previous day.
Nepse plunges 43 points as market rout continues
It is the third consecutive day this week that the market has gone into a downswing. Overall, the market lost around 80 points in the past three days.
On Wednesday trading, indices of the entire 13 trading groups went down. Likewise, the sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chips companies also declined 4.6 points.
Among the individual companies, Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 125.71 million. Balephi Hydropower Limited was the highest loser while Cyc Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha was recorded as the topmost gainer of the day.
