KATHMANDU, July 5: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Wednesday lost a notable 39.26 points to close at 2,049.44 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,088.70 points and gained 13 points in just the first seven minutes of the trading. The market however went to a straight fall in the remaining trading hours, taking the index to drop by 1.88 percent.

In the intraday trading, 209 listed companies lost while only 15 companies were recorded as gainers. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chip companies fell 5.89 points.
All the 13 trading groups were losers. Life insurance lost the biggest of 409.76 points, followed by non-life insurance with a drop of 310.85 points and manufacturing and processing with a decline of 105.80 points.
The daily turnover amount stood Rs 3.073 billion, up from Rs 2.576 billion on Tuesday.
Among individual companies, Shivam Cement had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 164.91 million. BPW Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest percent of its market price, while City Hotel Limited was the topmost gainer.
