KATHMANDU, July 26: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Wednesday declined 8.11 points to close at 2,156.20 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,164.31 points and hit the day’s low at 2,152.82 points within the first 18 minutes of the trading. However, the market index escalated in the next 45 minutes and went to as high as 2,186.18 points, before it moved to a straight fall in the remaining trading hours.
NEPSE slides down 6.46 points; daily turnover further declines...
The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies also dropped 2.05 points. The daily turnover also fell to Rs 2.432 billion from Rs 2.910 billion on Tuesday.
Three groups including ‘others,’ finance and mutual fund gained in the intraday transactions. Of the 10 losers, eight lost double digit points, while non-life insurance was the biggest loser with a downfall of 86.72 points.
Among individual companies, 141 had their market prices declined. A total of 67 companies gained in their market values.
Global IME Bank Ltd Promoter Share had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 151.253 million. Jalpa Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest of 6.49 percent while Kisan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was the topmost gainer.
