New cases continue to decline in Nepal after peak rate of second wave of COVID-19

KATHMANDU, Oct 30: Nepal recorded 372 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday along with 911 recoveries and 11 deaths, according to the latest information released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP). According to the ministry’s information, the number of new cases has been declining in the country, following the peak rate of the second wave of COVID-19 around mid-August.

KATHMANDU, Oct 30: Nepal recorded 372 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday along with 911 recoveries and 11 deaths, according to the latest information released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP). According to the ministry’s information, the number of new cases has been declining in the country, following the peak rate of the second wave of COVID-19 around mid-August. 


Among the 7,911 tests conducted on Saturday, 297 PCR and 97 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus. So far, 7,152,039 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 across the country.

There are currently 9,828 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Of them, 8,746 are in home isolation, 780 in institutional isolation, 234 in ICUs, and 68 on ventilators. Similarly, 212 people are in quarantine facilities.


Meanwhile, the Kathmandu valley recorded 168 cases of COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 103 cases were recorded in Kathmandu, 20 in Bhaktapur, and 45 in Lalitpur districts.
