KATHMANDU, Dec 12: CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) have started doing homework to form a new government. Both the parties are all set to form the new government by December 30 once the Election Commission publishes the final list of newly elected Parliamentary and Provincial members.
“The new government will be formed as soon as the Election Commission will publish the list of newly elected members of Federal Parliament and Provincial Assembly. “Preparations are underway,” said Bishnu Rimal, spokesperson of UML Central Election Mobilization Committee, adding, “The country will get a new government by the end of December.”
The parties will intensify works on party unification and government formation once the leaders of Maoist Center and UML, who now are in their home districts to celebrate victory rallies, return to the capital.
UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal have reached their respective home towns.

The EC has said that it will conclude vote counts by December 15 under Proportional Category.
The Election Commission is all set to finalize vote counts by December 17. The parties will be given one week time to send the list of candidates once the EC hands over the number of votes obtained by the parties,”
Spokesperson of the EC Nawaraj Dhakal told Republica Online. “Then the names of the elected candidate will be published in the National Gazette.
According to the EC, 16, 82, 685 votes have been counted by Monday. A total of 10, 587,521 votes have been cast under Proportional Category.
Spokesperson Dhakal said it will not take more than a week for the parties to send the list of candidates to the EC.
As per the provision laid down in the Constitution, the National Assembly must be formed within 30 days of the final elections results.
The President will appoint the parliamentary party leader of the party securing 138 seats to the post of the Prime Minister in accordance with Article 76 (1).
If parties could not secure a clear majority, the President would appoint the leader garnering support from one or more than one parties, said constitutional expert Purna Man Shakya.
To the 275-member House of Representatives, 165 members will be elected from first-past-the-post system while 110 will be elected under proportional representation system.
The left alliance is likely to garner majority as it has already secured two-thirds through the FPTP electoral system.
As per the Constitution, the Federal Parliament should convene a meeting within 30 days; appoint a new prime minister within 25 days and new Council of Ministers within 35 days of the final election results.
