NHRC urges everyone to make protests peaceful

KATHMANDU, Feb 24: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has called for respecting the human rights of citizens to protest peacefully and urged the protestors to make the protests peaceful.

KATHMANDU, Feb 24: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has called for respecting the human rights of citizens to protest peacefully and urged the protestors to make the protests peaceful.


In a press release issued on Thursday, Dr Tikaram Bhattarai, spokesperson for the NHRC, urged the government and others concerned not to use force during the protest and to exercise restraint while maintaining peace and security.

"The commission urges the protesting political parties, sister organizations of the political parties and the general public to make their protests peaceful, not to damage public property and physical infrastructure, exercise restraint in protesting and not obstruct while exercising their rights," the statement said.
