NNIPA player of the year award on Feb 28

KATHMANDU, Feb 19: Nepal National and International Players Association (NNIPA) is set to organize the best player of the year award 2072 in the capital on February 28.

KATHMANDU, Feb 19: Nepal National and International Players Association (NNIPA) is set to organize the best player of the year award 2072 in the capital on February 28. 


Issuing the press statement on Sunday, NNIPA's General Secretary Dipak Shrestha informed that one best performer of 22 different games in the year 2072 BS will be felicitated at the Russian Culture Center in Kamalpokhari.

According to Shrestha, Bikash Thapa of weightlifting, Nawayug Shrestha of football, Saraswati Chaudhary of volleyball, Bir Bahadur Mahara of taekwondo, Saroj Yadav of wrestling, Prem Prasad Pun of Archery are among the players to be felicitated. 


Similarly, squash player Arhant Singh, boxer Saraswati Rana, badminton's Nangsal Devi Tamang, judo's Phupu Lahmu Khatri, shooting's Sneha Rajya Laxmi Rana, cycling's Ajay Pandit, triathlon's Roja KC and kabbadi's Shanti Lama are also in the list. 


Likewise, Abhisek Bastola of lawn tennis, Kushma Rana Magar of hockey, Arpana Kumari Mahato of kho kho, Gaurika Singh of swimming, Nima Gharti Magar of wushu, Deep Saun of table tennis, Ranjana Rai of handball and Hari Kumar Rimal of athletics are the other remaining players to be feted. 


According to NNIPA, each player will be rewarded with Rs 10,000 each. NNPA will manage Rs 5,000 while the remaining half amount will be collected from respective associations.
