KATHMANDU, Oct 21: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli said that the 10 point agreement reached earlier to settle the party’s internal issues is no more relevant now. The agreement reached to strengthen the party’s unity has been declared useless by Oli.
Earlier, 10 leaders close to Madhav Kumar Nepal had decided to stay in the UML after reaching the 10 point agreement, stating that the party’s internal strife could be solved. They also did not support nor join Madhav Nepal’s newly-formed CPN (Unified Socialist). However, Bhim Rawal, Ghanshyam Bhusal, Yogesh Bhattarai, and second-rung leaders among the 10 leaders close to Nepal have been calling out for the implementation of the 10 point agreement.

But speaking at a meeting of the UML provincial committee of Bagmati Province on Wednesday, Oli said they will work to strengthen the party themselves, stating that the work to implement the 10 point agreement has ended.
Former Prime Minister Oli said that the agreement is now useless as it was reached to make Madhav Nepal stay in the party. “There is no need to raise the 10 point agreement anymore,” he said. “The agreement was formed to make Nepal stay in the party. What is the use of it now that he has already left the party? It is not necessary to sing the songs of the agreement anymore,” Oli said.
Stating that Nepal has committed an even bigger crime than Bamdev Gautam in 2017, Oli said that Madav Nepal will not be welcomed in the party anymore. “There is no entry for Madhav Kumar Nepal,” he said.
Furthermore, Oli said that the ruling coalition is only together until the upcoming election and that it can break at any moment. “The coalition is only focused on maintaining the alliance till the upcoming elections. Even the old members of the Nepali Congress (NC) are confused as to who to vote for at the moment,” Oli said.
