KATHMANDU, March 26: While snubbing the call of the Madhav Kumar Nepal-led faction in the party, the CPN-UML Chairman K P Oli has said that there is no possibility to withdraw any decisions taken on March 12 as demanded by the rival faction within the party.
Addressing the parliamentary party meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Official Residence in Baluwatar on Friday, Chairman Oli said that since the decisions to appoint 23 former Maoist Center leaders as Central Committee members and reshuffle the party responsibility of a few leaders was made in accordance with the party’s statute there was no chance of backtracking from those decisions. “Although a few colleagues did not attend the meeting, both the decisions were taken in accordance with the party statute,” UML Chief Whip Bishal Bhattarai quoted Oli as saying in the meeting.

Chairman Oli, who is also the party’s parliamentary leader, also said that since the amended statute has been already endorsed by the Central Committee meeting through majority votes there is no possibility of bringing any further amendments in the statute.
However, senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal, Ghanashyam Bhusal, and Yogesh Bhattarai had argued that the structure of the party that existed on May 16, 2018, as per the verdict passed by the Supreme Court. They had argued that withdrawing those decisions was necessary to keep the party unity intact.
The leaders close to Madhav Kumar Nepal had earlier boycotted the party's PP and CC meeting.
According to UML Chief Whip Bhattarai, Chairman Oli also expressed strong dissatisfaction with the clarification give by senior Madhav Kumar Nepal and Vice-Chairman Bhim Rawal. He argued that their clarification is liable for the party’s disciplinary action.
