No power cuts now onwards, Energy Minister says

KATHMANDU, July 27: Energy Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi has said that the people will not have to face load-shedding now onwards.

KATHMANDU, July 27: Energy Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi has said that the people will not have to face load-shedding now onwards. 


At a program organized in the capital city on Thursday, Minister Shahi said that people can enjoy regular power supply though there will be power cuts for maintenance of transmission line and other maintenance works.

On the occasion, Minister Shahi also urged all to use low-power consuming electric bulbs and fans in a bid to manage electricity. 


He also said that the money of the capitalist class would be used with first priority for power generation and added that foreign investment would be brought in for electricity generation as only national investment was not sufficient for power production. 


The Minister pledged to begin a system for payment of electricity tariffs though online system within a week. He warned to scrap the agreement with the developer company if the construction works were not started on time. RSS
